Comicazi Poll 32:Labor Play

Well, Bracken’s ego aside, last week’s poll spotlighted your favorite works by Scottish comics writer and possible otherworlder, Grant Morrison.  There were 10 fine choices as the man has been cranking out comics for 2 decades plus!  The clear cut winner with 50% of the votes was the excellent All Star Superman!

This week’s poll focuses on the holiday weekend.  It’s the unofficial end of summer and a 3 day weekend.  Figured I’d celebrate that fact in my own way with a poll.  Let’s see if we can rack up more votes than last week!  Take a moment this weekend and place your vote.

And Bracken, you know we love ya, man!  Even if you’re not a possible otherworlder!

Last week’s poll generated some traffic above the norm of the usual numbers.  And some surprises, too.  Kurt Russell must really resonate with you at least as much as it does with Bernie.
Of the 10 movie selections there was a tie for 1st place!  Big Trouble In Little China, OK, sure……and Sky High??  Really??  Wow.  Not Tombstone or The Thing?  Oh well.  The votes speak.

This week I swing it back to the comic world and pose to you this:

OK, it’s been a couple of weeks since the last poll but don’t fret!!  It’s still an ongoing feature.  We just gotta get more of you guys voting!!  I want to see 24 votes or more on a regular basis.

So the last poll asked which version of the Justice League was your favorite.  Nearly half of the votes went to the 80’s version by Giffen and DeMatteis.  You guys love that wacky Booster/Beetle fun apparently.
Anyway, this week’s poll should be of special interest to Comicazi faithful Bernie.  Hope he doesn’t blow a gasket choosing a favorite from this list…….

So I’m going to just go ahead and call a winner on last week’s poll.  I did suggest that the voting for the CBC logo entries was to end on the 17th but it seems pretty clear to me that #2 is the winner.  A hearty congratulations to The Goog for his logo design!!  Looking forward to a finished piece, my friend!!

This week’s poll swings it back to comic books for you and asks this…..

I thought last week’s poll about Batman villains would generate some votes.  It was one of the poorer showings with only 11 votes.  Come on folks!  Cast your votes!!
The winner of fave Bat villain went to the Joker.  Unsurprisingly.  He grabbed 7 of the votes.  Ra’s al Ghul racked up the other 4 votes.  He’s the best in my estimation but 7 people spoke louder than me.

Anyway, this week’s poll was previewed in yesterday’s newsletter.  It features the entrants for the Comicazi Book Club’s new logo.  And I managed not to be a total maroon and figured out how to make this poll the first ever with pictures!!  So now you can make an informed vote!!

So last week I asked what your favorite product at Comicazi might be.  We sell lots of things and it appears that there was a three-way tie between trade paperbacks, new comics, and back issues!!  Apparently the reading material is huge amongst you guys!!  Ahhh….my heart swells with pride!

This time around, I ask of thee the following:

Greetings all and welcome to the 400th post!!  That’s right!  It’s a milestone.  Or so they tell me.  Thanks for sticking around through all of them…even when they were a little thin :-)

Anyway, today’s poll question will have to do with the store itself, in honor of this landmark posting.  Before we get to that though, last week’s poll was all about favorite BBQ food.  Very comic booky I know.  But we’re more than just comics and toys here at the ‘Cazi!  We’re also hungry people and our appetites run the gamut of food to toys to books to music to daredevil stunts involving chop sticks.  Don’t ask.
No real surprise here to me that hamburgers won handily over the other choices.  The only distressing point to me was that no one chose the veggie option.  Come on!!  They’re good for you!!
And I lied.  There was another distressing point regarding last week’s poll.  Only 14 votes.  The week prior, there were 45.  I’d like to see about 30 votes on a regular basis please.  You can get started right now!!  Here’s the newest poll:

Greetings friends!

Well last week’s patriotic poll was the most popular yet!  There were 45 votes, which is more than double the most votes I’ve had in the past!  That’s great and I hope to get numbers like that on future polls.
Of the comic characters listed as potential favorite patriotic character, the Man Of Steel swept the poll with a whopping 26 votes!!  Closest contender was Captain America with 15.  I call shenanigans but it appears that you have spoken.  And Gary spoke 3 times.

This week’s poll is food as you may have guessed by the title.  I ask you this:

Last week’s poll asked who your fave underwater hero was and from the votes, it appears that Aquaman clobbered Sub-Mariner!  A decisive 60% of the votes went to Arthur.  Namor did better than Fathom who floundered with just one vote.  Yeah, I typed that.
This week, in honor of the Fourth of July weekend, I ask thee again to choose a favorite hero.  Do it for apple pie!!

Well at least one of you was outraged at last week’s poll featuring Irish bands.  Apparently there were no good bands among the choices.  I went with the most common artists to reach as many people as possible.  But as this was one of the lowest voted polls and U2 won the poll with almost half of the votes, I suppose that maybe I should have tried some more obscure – or more awesome, according to one! – bands.  Oh well.  It’s a beautiful day.  Ouch.  On to this week’s question…..
